Another edition of Workout Wednesday! It’s been awhile since we hit the core, so I thought I’d give you another great workout to keep in your strength arsenal.

Yes, abs are mostly made in the kitchen – stay out of your kids Halloween bucket!! Ok, ok – a couple fun-size Twix won’t hurt you. Speaking of Halloween, have you ever seen Jimmy Kimmel’s “I told my kids I ate all their Halloween candy” challenge? Yikes, poor kids! I would act the same way.

Way off tangent, let me bring it back to core.

Today, we will use a medicine ball. Don’t have one? I found this 5 lb. med ball at the store Five Below. Sweet!

Do each exercise for 25 repetitions. Click on the images below to enlarge.

X Crunches: Lie on your back in an X shape. Hold the med ball in your right hand. Reach your hand up and your left leg up to meet in the middle. Continue for all repetitions then switch sides.

Crunches: Just your basic crunch. You got this!

Superman: Lie on your stomach with the ball in your hands. Lift your arms and legs up at the same time. Repeat.

Toe Touch Crunches: Lie on your back with your legs straight up in the air; ball in your hands. Reach the ball up towards your toes, then lower.

Side Hip Raises: In side plank position, hold ball against your hip. Lower your hip down towards mat and lift back into plank position. Repeat on other side.
